Rustic Afternoon Tea at Stanford Farm, Shropshire

We get to visit some stunning venues week to week but this is a venue with a difference. Only a few miles from our HQ and a complete blank canvas. Absolutely untouched, rustic charm. Stanford Farm is an award winning Shropshire venue that is a must see, especially if you are looking for a DIY wedding base! Whether you are looking for a relaxed festival themed or a boho wedding, the farm is the perfect venue.

For a styled shoot organised by the Shropshire Wedding Planner, Becca, we decided to pop on a rustic style afternoon tea. Afternoon tea doesn't have to be vintage and girly (it can be that too!) but it can have a difference too.

Images were captured by the very talented Tara at Upon the Heath Photography.

I mean who wouldn't want a cake made of brie and topped with all of the gorgeousness of fresh fruit and figs?

Big fluffy scones with local jams and fresh fruits to accompany. And of course clotted cream!

Doughnut Tower is from Planet Doughnut - the best supplier of Doughnuts EVER!

Afternoon tea set ups wouldn't be the same without mini bites of cakes and desserts. and instead of the traditional afternoon tea stands we opted for rustic wooden boards. They let the cakes colours pop and also give you the option of handing them out, a bit like Canapés.

And while we are here can we take a minute to just admire George from Shropshire Macarons delightful Macarons! On a lovely rustic stand provided by George himself, they are the perfect addition to an afternoon tea.
