A countryside wedding will always be one of our favourites. Our HQ is nestled away in the Shropshire Hills, not far from the Stiperstones so it is easy to see why we are most at home out in the hills.
Recently, a classic marquee wedding took place in the stunning Shropshire Hills, creating an unforgettable day filled with delicious food, warm weather, and breathtaking views. This gorgeous wedding was for a family we have catered for before for other occasions, which really does make it even more special.

A Warm Welcome with Fish and Chips Canape Cones
The wedding began with fish and chips served in canape cones. These were freshly cooked in the airstream, adding a fun and informal vibe to the start of the celebration. Our team held the drinks recpetion and sished out the cones, ensuring guests felt welcomed and comfortable as they mingled.
Sharing Boards with a Classic Ploughman’s Twist
After the canapes, guests were treated to sharing boards inspired by the traditional ploughman’s lunch. These boards were delivered directly to the tables, making the meal feel intimate and fun. The boards featured a variety of cheeses, cold meats, pickles, and fresh bread, all carefully selected to highlight local produce. We source all of our british sliced meats locally, and they are always a hit!
Seasonal Dessert Table to Finish the Meal
To round off the meal, a seasonal dessert table was set up, offering a selection of sweet treats. From zesty meringue to goey brownie stacks, there was something for everyone.
The dessert table allowed guests to choose their favourites and enjoy a relaxed finish to the formal dining part of the day. It also added a splash of color and variety, complementing the natural surroundings and the overall aesthetic of the wedding. A dessert table is always a good option when you have had a sit down meal, as it enocurages guests to get up, move around a little and brings a bit of interaction into the day.

Evening Feast with Wood-Fired Pizza, Loaded Fries and a Grazing Table
As the sun began to set, the evening food offerings brought a casual and festive atmosphere. Wood-fired pizzas were cooked fresh on site from the Shepherds hut, Percy, filling the air with irresistible smoky aromas. Alongside the pizzas, loaded fries provided a different hot option.
A grazing table was also available that guests could enjoy throughout the evening. This setup encouraged relaxed mingling and snacking. Not to mention it looked beuatiful!

If you are considering a countryside wedding, think about how you can bring together great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a location that speaks to you. These elements will help you create a day that your guests will remember fondly for years to come.
